Shaunya has had a distinguished career in television news in a number of network-affiliate stations around the country. She is also the Station General Manager/Anchor for the Public Television Station, FGTV-Fulton Government Television (in Atlanta/Fulton County, GA). She is currently the Division Director of Fulton Films the largest County Film Office in the State of Georgia overseeing multiple block-buster movie production agreements and partnerships. Shaunya Chavis-Rucker is a multi-Emmy Award winning veteran television journalist and film industry professional. Javon Johnson - A founding ensemble member of Congo Square Theatre Company and founder of Bear Fruit Conservatory, award winning actor, playwright and screenwriter, acting coach, director, producer and Broadway actor, Javon Johnson currently stars in Tyler Perry’s hit TV drama “The Oval”. Johnson’s other credits include BET’s “The Quad” and “American Soul” as well as “Survivor’s Remorse” on STARZ, “Barbershop 2” and many more. His stage-play “Hambone” was a Sundance Theatre Lab selection and produced during the Victory Gardens’ Tony Award Winning season. His short film “Heaven” directed by the late great Chadwick Boseman screened at the African Movie Academy Award nomination, HollyShorts Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, Cannes International Pan African Film Festival and Martha Vineyard’s African American Film Festival. In addition to his film and television projects, Johnson is also the founding Artistic Director of Bear Fruit Conservatory Performing Arts Training school. His sensitivity for community and prowess in business, the arts, and life skills has established him as a credible voice while building a significant legacy for this generation and those to come. He has contributed to several “edu-tain- ment” movements that empower and inspire while educating and has recently contributed to best-selling book REACH: 40 Black Men Speak on Living, Leading, and Succeeding. With a master’s in education, two honorary doctorates and as a former high school teacher Rucker especially dedicates substantive resources to youth empow- erment using his teaching gift in educational capacities. A prolific speaker and moderator, Lamman has embraced the international speaking circuit for countless corporate conferences, university commencements and masterclasses marketing cam- paigns and non-profit initiatives.
He is a spokesperson for several charitable efforts and community action initiatives including the American Heart Association, AIDS Healthcare Founda- tion, Association of Black Cardiologists, The Black AIDS Institute, BMe Community, The Magic Johnson Foundation and his non-profit The Black Gents an all male ensemble of actors driven to resurrect the positive images of black males through thought-provoking high quality entertain- ment, youth empowerment initiatives and community service.
A passionate Activist Rucker has relentlessly advocated for social justice, community empower- ment, health and more since his youth. Beyond film, his award-winning acting range has spanned Off-Broadway theater as well as television such as Black Angels Over Tuskegee, Half and Half, WEtv’s South of Hell, As The World Turns and All My Children. Rucker is maintaining a powerful small and large screen presence in films such as Bad Dad Rehab (TV One), Cooking Up Christmas (OWN), The Man in 3B and Black Coffee (Netflix) UPtv’s Where is The Love as well as feature film Service to Man. His recent collaboration with Paula Patton on Sacrifice (BET Plus) has fans wanting more, especially after his best known roles as “Jacob Greenleaf” on OWN’s hit drama series, Greenleaf the handsome “Sheriff Troy” in Tyler Perry/Lionsgate’s Why Did I Get Married film sequel and “Will” on hit film/sitcom Meet The Browns. Rucker currently stars in the new series Black Hamptons (BET Plus) along with a recurring role in the seventh and final season of Queen Sugar (OWN). Lamman Rucker is an Actor, Educator, Activist and Entrepreneur who’s career platform has been used to influence, educate and ignite communities through artistic and academic innovation.
